It is a panoramic 5 - 6 hrs joy ride, providing gorgeous scenery full of lush forests dancing to the rhythm of the pride of great Himalayas. Arrive Shimla and transfer to your Hotel. The good old days of the British may be over, but Shimla's attraction as a cool summer retreat, full of lovely walks and beautiful scenery remains undisturbed. Especially the green hills, covered with silver fir, scented pine and elegant Himalayan Oak , red rhododendron and all varieties of mountain flowers fill the air with lingering aroma. Getting around Shimla is almost entirely on foot. The top two tiers of the ridge are barred to all traffic. This means a stay in a state of tranquillity in harmony with nature. Afternoon take a walking tour visiting Christ Church reputed to be second oldest church in Northern India, Scandal Point - the large open area of leveled ground which is Shimla's main public meeting place. Ever since a young equestrian casanova absconded with a young high born British maiden from this spot 58 years ago, this has been the favorite rendezvous of locals, State Museum - good little exhibition of hill art and culture, Meals and overnight at the Hotel.

Also visit the world's height cricket ground and Kufri, a popular winter resort famous for skiing and panoramic views. Return to the Hotel. Afternoon take a pleasant walk to Glen Forest - a pretty, secluded picnic spot located some 4 kms below the ridge. It is one of Shimla's best walks; the Glen is a famous for its natural beauty, majestic waterfall (only at and just after monsoon) and for its rushing, ice-cold streams fed by melting snow. Manali is at the pleasant transition stage between the old and the new, with an exotic array of different hill and mountain people to be seen strolling the clean, wide streets of the modern new town, and with nothing but dense woodland, yellow mustard meadows and red saffron, rice paddies beyond it. The valley of Manali is indescribably beautiful with rippling streams, old wooden bridges, meadows of violets and blue speedwell and pine -scented woodlands full of wild raspberries and strawberries. Though a modern day health resort, it has been a holy site for over 1000 years and pilgrims still come in large numbers, both to visit the shrine of saint 'Moni' in the old Manali village and to have a sacred dip in the nearby sulphur springs.
